The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. fondue restaurant franchise is once again supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the 12th annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign. From Oct. 11 – Dec. 11, The Melting Pot’s guests will have the opportunity to donate $10 or more to St. Jude to receive $20 off a future purchase of $50 or more and help ensure more cherished family moments are in the futures of families with children fighting childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
“At The Melting Pot, we see every day how important it is for our guests to take the time to cherish everyday moments with their families and we hope that our support of the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign can help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital families enjoy more family dinners together for years to come,” said Melting Pot President Mike Lester. “With 100 percent of donations made at The Melting Pot going directly to St. Jude, our team members and guests have an opportunity to truly contribute to saving children’s lives and granting their families more precious moments together.”
By donating $10 or more to St. Jude at The Melting Pot during the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign, guests will receive a Donate and Dine card that offers $20 off a future purchase of $50 or more. Since becoming a partner in 2003, The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. has raised more than $9 million for St. Jude.
The Melting Pot recently scored a Silver Award in the Enduring Impact Category of the inaugural Franchising Gives Back Awards program. The International Franchise Association (IFA) award recognized The Melting Pot for its longstanding commitment to the community through its ongoing partnership with St. Jude and the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign. The Franchising Gives Back Awards program recognizes the best, most innovative community leaders and charitable programs nationwide. Dan Stone, chief business & people development officer for Front Burner Brands, restaurant management company for The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., accepted the accolade on behalf of the brand at a special event on Sept. 28 in Washington, D.C.
The St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign is an unprecedented union of celebrities, media, and more than 70 of the nation’s leading brands and companies that ask consumers to donate while they shop during the holiday season to help St. Jude advance research and treatment of childhood cancer. The campaign began as a holiday-focused fundraising effort and has grown into an annual tradition that has raised more than $587 million in 11 years thanks to tremendous public support. Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most –saving kids regardless of their financial situation. These funds are critical given that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
“I am so grateful for The Melting Pot’s dedication to helping the children and families of St. Jude,” said Marlo Thomas, National Outreach Director for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “During the holiday season, The Melting Pot’s participation in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign makes it easy for its guests to help our doctors and scientists continue the research and treatment that leads to cures and gives these children the chance to enjoy many more holidays for years to come.”
